Program Overview

Throughout the course, trainees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the physical, emotional, and practical support a birth doula provides to expectant mothers and their families. The course equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective and compassionate birth doulas, dedicated to empowering and supporting women during one of the most significant experiences of their lives.

Program Goals

In the " EMA-RCPCH Internship" Program With Upscale You Will Learn:

  • Describe the roles of a birth doula
  • Identify the sexual and reproductive parts of the female anatomy
  • Explain how a woman becomes pregnant and how babies grow
  • Discuss the common symptoms of pregnancy and how to manage them

  • Indicate how to screen newborn babies for disorders and how to care for them
  • Outline common maternal mental health disorders
  • Summarize how to support parents as a birth doula
